Enter a URL
When setting up your website, it is important to be sure that visitors can get to your site whether or not they use "www" first. Use BuildTraffic's simple tool to check that your website is set up properly. Just enter the URL without the www and our tool will tell you is it also goes to your page with the "www." You will get the result "Good" if it is set up correctly, or "Bad- not redirecting" if it is not set up properly.
The reasoning behind this is simple. You want your visitors to be able to find your website easily! Some people use the www. and some people do not. You want your customers or users to get to yours site either way. So after you set up your website and domain, use our free checker to make sure you have set it up properly.
Use this tool to determine whether or not a "www.web-site-name.com" or a "web-site-name.com" returns the same website or redirects users to the same homepage. The www redirect is a rule implemented by your server, which functions to forward visitors from the non-www model of your web page to its www model or vice versa. So for example, a customer enters yourwebsitename.com into his browser, the browser will send him to yourwebsitename.com. And when that request reaches your server, this particular redirect will inform this browser that the proper website address is www.yourwebsitename.com. Similarly, you can set this redirect up the opposite way, which will then be sending customers from www.yourwebsitename.com to yourwebsitename.com.
